At CIM we know that team building also happens outside of work and we work from different parts of Spain. Our day-to-day work takes place between projects, meetings, developments, support and continuous coordination between teams and clients.
And while technology allows us to work constantly connected, there is one thing that remains difficult to replace: sharing time together outside of the usual context, which is why this weekend we held our spring team event.
A rural house, route, swimming pool, barbecue and many conversations that normally do not occur between calls or meetings.
And that is precisely where this type of meeting really adds value.
Beyond team building
Team building is often talked about as if it were one-off activities or organized dynamics, but in reality, team building tends to happen much more naturally.
Occurs:
- When conversations appear that normally would not have space
- When you share time without rushing
- When you get to know people better beyond the day-to-day job
- When links are generated that then facilitate the professional day-to-day life of the company
Because teams do not only work by organization or coordination, they also work by trust.
That is why we believe that creating spaces to share time together continues to be important.
Not to “do business”, but to reinforce something much simpler: to feel that there are people behind the projects, meetings and messages.
What we really take away
Yes, there was a route.
Yes, there was a BBQ.
And yes, the first bath of the year also fell.
But the most important thing was not the plan. It was coming back with the feeling of having reinforced something that is often taken for granted on a day-to-day basis: trust between the people who make up the team.
And that, although it does not appear in any KPI, ends up being noticeable in how they work together afterwards.
