Trends in automation and document management for 2025

On April 10, we attended the OpenText Summit Madrid 2025a key event in the digital transformation sector. There, the main trends that will mark the future of automation and document management were shared. We would like to share with you a summary of the highlights, and how these innovations can transform the way companies manage their information and processes.

1. Artificial Intelligence as the main protagonist

AI is consolidating its position as the main driver of automation. Not only is it revolutionizing the way we classify, process and analyze documents, but it is also enabling:

  • Automate repetitive tasks with greater accuracy.
  • Make more agile, data-driven decisions.
  • Integrate with existing systems, enhancing their efficiency.

At CIM we are already applying AI solutions that allow our clients to free resources, minimize errors and optimize time, although we remind you that in order to get the full potential of AI, we must have the documentation not only digitized, but also indexed. Digitizing is converting physical documents into digital files, indexing is automatically recognizing the data within those documents, allowing instant searches and consequently, process automation.

2. Document management in the cloud: flexibility and scalability

Migration to cloud environments continues to be a priority for many organizations. At the event they showed how their solutions:

  • They allow access to information from anywhere.
  • They facilitate the scalability of document systems.
  • They increase resilience to possible incidents.

From our experience, the cloud is no longer the future: it is the present necessary to remain competitive and compliant.

3. Automation with a focus on user experience

One of the most commented points was the design of processes not only to be efficient, but also to be simple and accessible to users. We talked about:

  • Intuitive interfaces.
  • Workflow customization.
  • Reduced response times and improved traceability.

At CIM we have been committed to end-user-focused solutions for years, and this trend confirms that we are going in the right direction and that our customers’ experience comes first.

4. Security and regulatory compliance, more necessary than ever

In an ever-changing digital environment, data security and compliance with legislation (such as RGPD or LOPDGDD) are more important than ever.

The solutions presented by OpenText natively integrate advanced security, auditing and permissions management mechanisms. And, as always, from CIM we help our clients to implement them with total guarantee.

5. Inspiring success stories

During the Summit, several real cases of companies that have already started their journey towards the full automation of their document processes were shared. These examples are a clear demonstration that the benefits are tangible: cost reduction, improved productivity and greater ability to adapt to change. If you want to be one of our success stories, write to us!

At CIM, we remain at the forefront

Attending the OpenText Summit has reinforced our vision: automation and intelligent document management are not an option, but a mandatory path for all companies that want to grow and optimize their processes.

If you are also thinking about taking the next step, CIM can help you make it happen.
