On May 8th at Neptuno’s Palace, Opentext Enterprise Day took place as has become customary. In this event, clients and partners can gain first-hand knowledge of the latest tendencies and innovations from Opentext suite and how information governance evolves in technology areas from other enterprises.

Once again, CIM-ECM was present in the Opentext Enterprise Day Madrid as Gold Partner. Always is a pleasure meet again with well-known faces and be able to tell clients and users about our expertise with Opentext products.

Lars Drexler, Solution Consulting Enterprise VP, began the sessions giving us some data about Opentext progress and information management in an era when information grows exponentially and flow between people at full speed. Due to improvements in new technologies and the fact that a 66% of the population use mobile devices, Information has become in a tool to take decisions available for everyone, every time and everywhere.

Subsequently, it was the turn of Mario Montesinos, Director Europe, Business Value Consulting, giving us a playful talk about new products and improvements of Opentext presentation, that helps enterprises to enhance the profile of smart and connected enterprises. Therefore, some colleagues went through the stage advancing us different tools and applications. Related to Documentum platform, latest developments were:

  • Content Connect: Next generation of connector that allow us to integrate document management with Office 365.
  • New connectors for File Intelligence and Info Archive, which allows us to index, classify and store of different non-structured data sources.
  • Documentum D2 and InfoArchive Smart UI: In order to standardize the Look & Feel of all their applications, Opentext bet for Smart UI as universal user interface. This interface is adapted to mobile devices, iOS & Android via AppWorks.
  • AppWorks will work as process automation and low code application deployment platorm.
  • Privacy Center is a new application to manage security and assure the normative compliance, GDPR and Data Governance.
  • With OT2, Opentext Cloud, support cases are reduced and increase operational savings with 24×7 support and managed services.

After breakfast, where we could enjoy of delightful catering with our clients and attend them in our booth, turn goes to parallel sessions from different Partners started. This time, the auditorium was the place for CIM, where our CEO Carolina Izquierdo presented to the audience the Mapfre España Document Management Solution.

CIM collaborates with Mapfre España in order to maintain and improve its Document Management Platform, offering them different services. On one side, CIM has a service near to business where its labour is managing the demand of new requirements on business processes and make possible to develop them in Document Management Platform. CIM also maintain the development of new improvements, evolutive developments and new projects of Mapfre España as well as the maintenance of its platform.

Her talk began positioning Mapre in the insurance market, outstanding its importance a growth in last recent years. Insurance Business generate a large volume of documents and Mapfre cover its document processes with different Opentext solutions:

  • Creation and construction of documents through Extream.
  • Classification and custody in its different Documentum repositories.
  • Papers digitalization thanks to Capture.

It was reviewed some use cases where Opentext solutions are very present such as Insurance Policy Generation and Welcome Pack. In these processes, the documentation is generated with Extream application and are managed in xCP, the client case management tool of Opentext, where finally the policy is stored in Documentum. Other example is the Policy Digitalization, where the policy data is captured and sent to client, who sign the policy on paper and send back to Mapfre. Capture recognizes data in the paper and store the scanned documents in client record in Documentum. Currently, Mapfre is beginning to develop solutions in D2 client, a user interface which is more agile and intuitive.

Document Management is essential in Mapfre as insurance company, since provide a significant cost saving due to the automatization of repetitive processes, otherwise these processes would require a big effort to be performed. It reduces the papers generation which require a large storage space as well as more time to manage them, allowing that registration of new policies and policy management to be more efficient avoiding the company growth.

Last but not least, María Inclán, Archiving and Document Management Director of Banco de España, told us about the Banco de España history and how transition has been made from paper to a digitalize and electronic bank model.

When talks were finished, we met again with our clients, providers and Opentext team, with whom we could enjoy of a pleasant lunch while we shared all information that journey had provided us.
